Pcmcia adapter
I am working on a IBM Thinkpad 385CD. I am trying to find a pcmcia network adapter that will work. The adpater, several different brands, will not go in all of the way. I have a pcmcia modem that will go in all of the way. Looking at the cards ther is a slot on one side and a tab on the other. The tab on the nic is thicker and will not go in all of the way. Has anybody run into this before.
Thanks Keystone

I can't remember which way it goes, but there are two different kinds of PCMCIA cards. There is the original kind, which is slow...and then there is the newer kind, which is commonly called CardBus, and it's faster. So that you don't get them mixed up, they 'key' them so you can't insert the wrong one. I would think, given what you've said, you need to find an older non CardBus adapter. Good luck!
