remote assistance?
well, there is my problem , I dont seem to be able to connect(remote) with anothe pc, for assistance. can someone tell me why,
have.
xp sp2
broadband (8mb)

What error message are you getting? Did you get the invite from the other person via MSN messenger?

With SP2 loaded, you have to establish exceptions in the firewall for both the remote assistance and remote access for either to work. Additionally, under system properties, remote tab, you have to have these options turned on also. Have you checked both locations to ensure that it is turned on?

Don't forget to also right-click 'My Computer' and select 'Properties', go to the 'Remote' tab, be sure 'Remote Desktop' is turned on, and click 'select remote users', add the user you want to log on and make sure that user has a password set....
this process sets the firewall exceptions automatically.

If you are behind a NAT router, you have top forward ports to the pc that needs assistance.
