Disk Boot Failure.
When ever I turn my computer on, I get a message that reads, "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". I'm running Winxp, and I have a Win98 Boot disk. Unfortunately I'm not to sure what to do after I receive the A:\ prompt. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I didn't see any thread containing the same topic. My apologies if one already exists.

Do you know if the Harddrive is even working—If it's being identified by the computer as detected? If so, get the diagnostic utility from the manufacture of the harddrive and run that utility to test the drive itself, cause even if it's seen, it may still not be running correctly
If you're running XP, your 98 floppy isn't going to do you much good. You need a XP CD (the same version of your installed OS) to boot from. If the HD is detected, and checks OK with the diagnostic, you could enter the Recovery console and run the chkdsk /R utility to scan and repair problems with windows. May solve your problem, but we wont know until after you run it through.
Just some ideas…

I have had that error many times on various OS's, the drives were all good and Norton Disk Doctor has saved me in all cases with no data loss.
