BIG problem with Sony DRX-710UL DVD+-RW
Well, i installed the firmware upgrade from the sony site, and then the DVD driver was not recognized by the pc anymore. I tried to use it on a Sony VAIO and it will just wont recognize it, and its not even giving me the "dun don" sound that the pc makes when you connect a USB device. Is there anyway to reset it to its factory settings?? Please help, its a borrowed DVD!!!

Geezer
I think the reason you aren't getting any answers is that no one wants to be the messenger that gets shot ?
Go back & fess up, you'll probably need to see if you can convince sony to change it &/or reflash the firmware for you, as plug & play can't see it.
