Thumbs up I watched the Chronicles of Riddick on DVD last night...

My wife gave me the Widescreen, uncut version before I left for work and I finally got around to watching it. I thought it was pretty frelling good, but I'm a huge Sci-Fi geek so I was able to follow the story pretty well. It's an excellent companion to Pitch Black, but it isn't a sequal. All in all I would give it 1¼ thumbs up.

That being said I'll say one thing though. Like him or hate him they couldn't find anybody any better than Vin Diesel to play Riddick. Hellsbells I think he is Riddick.

Saw Pitch Black, got the two on DVD sitting on the table right now (same uncut one). Theres a third installment too MK. Vin Diesel gets a lot of roles, only he could play, nice little setup eh!

I actually fell asleep during this movie in the theatre. First time I had done that since Titanic.

Yeah, not a sequel to Pitch Black, but a spinoff. The third installment is actually a short animated bit called Dark Fury that sort of bridges the gap between the two movies. It was animated by the same guy that did Aeon Flux for MTV. That was a freaking weird show.

One problem with the popularity of Chronicles......Pitch Black is now being sold as Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black.

Can't these pathetic sycophant movie people ever stick to an idea? They don't even just change things when they're not popular. They change something that is popular to mimic something that's more popular. Goobers.

I watched Pitch Black. It was ok. I do have Chronicles now which I haven't seen yet. It's sitting near my TV unopened waiting to be watched.

I liked Pitch Black. Cool monsters; wish I had a 1:4 scale model of one.

    I didn't like Chronicles.

Every time they said "Necromongers" I chuckled. Were they consciously trying for the silliest villans possible? Bone armor? I leave things in the toilet scarier than that mob. These guys were less intimidating than a troop of Girl Scouts.

But the plated kitty kats were kinda neat though. Besides the point they were trying to make is that Riddick is the real bad arse (the better of 2 evils). All of the others were mere wusses in comparison.
