Drivers for Firewire for Win ME

I need drivers for a Belkin firewire notebook adaptor that I bought for my HP pavilion XH485 that has Win Me os. The installation wizard has found some of the drivers, but not others. I've searched the C drive and the HP recovery disks to no avail. Where can I find these drivers?
    Thanks and Happy Holidays,
    Charles

I brought the adapter awhile back, if it did come with drivers, I cannot find them.

Which adaptor is it charward? Most Firewire stuff is native, eg:

    http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=2016&langid=1

"Win98SE, Win ME, Win2000 and WinXP. The drivers for the card are built into the operating system, no driver is required for the card from Belkin."

That was my understanding too, but the drivers are not on my system or on the HP recovery disk. That is why I am asking for help to find them. The card is F5U512-APL.

I had problems with a flash driver before that was supposed to be "native" and the computer could not find it. I finally found that one on a website for the flask card. It really is a hassle not having the ME distribution.

That's probably the nub of the problem. The link & quote are for the F5U512.

I suppose you've noted what .cab file(s) the wizard is looking for & searched hard drive & CD?

The only .CAB file mentioned was Base2.cab that was in the windows/options/cab folder.

If I skip files in the installation I see the following files that are not found:
    dbclass.sys
    dbfilter.sys
    enum1394.sys
    enum1394.sys
    NIC1394.sys
NIC1394W.INF this one is on the sys in windows\inf
    nlmap.sys
    ntmaphlp.pdr
If anybody has info on these missing files please respond.

When I skip the files, the installation says something about a texas instrument PCI-1420 cardbus controller .

If I stop/unplug the firewire card and reinsert it, the computer does not try to reload the drivers. I guess it thinks it has all the drivers. I will try and see if the card works now.

No, it did not work. If I go to the system device manager there are yellow exclamination points by
    SBP2 Compliant ieee 1394 device
    network adapter/NDIS 1394 Net Adapter
Am I missing something other than the files,
    Thanks,
    Charward
