    No Sound Device after re-formatting.

It seems like I am having the same problem as many people on this board. I doubt the admins have much time to hear my life story so here is the shortened version.

    Sony Vaio Model: PCV-RXA842
    Athlon 2400+ Processor

It shows up as No Sound Device on both DXDIAG and the Sound and Audio Device Properties.
I've tried removing drivers, multiple reformatting, and trying to toggle with BIOS, but nothing has worked.
My question is, What Audio Driver I might need to download, and if a simple download will fix the problem?

I sincerely appreciate the reply seeing as how I've spent over 9 hours today trying to research how to fix this problem.

Ok, I basically reviewed everybody else's posts and follow the pattern to fix it, and I did! Went to Sony's website and fix the problem by simply downloading the driver.
I'm still confused why this problem never occured all the other times I re-formated.
