    Post SMC card

How do I completely erase traces of my old d-link network card from my registry.

I need to install my smc card since i change cable provider and i can install it because it detects the new card as a d-link.

The guy from services said i need to use the window driver for the realtek card. I just need to take the other one out

    thanks

Just do a regedit & search for all entries having "dlink" or variants. Delete all these entries from registry. Should do the trick!

If your running Win9x, you also need to get rid of the .inf file as well as the two .bin files in \Windows\Inf Also, if running 98+ it also makes a backup of the inf file in \Windows\Inf\Other

    Thumbs down

Startup in Safe Mode and remove the Device in Device Manager, then reboot and do a normal shutdown. Install the new NIC card and load the drivers.
