DNS Server
Anyone have any links as to how to set up a Linus DNS server. This can be for any flavour of linux...
I could also use some info on how to get Windows to acknowledge it, (if that requires an extra step or not).
Thanks.

might be eaiser to use redhat (fedora) for this. You need to use bind, and its hella hard to setup so you will need a book and maybe some help form the irc channels

Or just use a linux flavored router (atm I am using clarkconnect. It has the dns server all setup for you plus it has a bunch of extras. Version 3 is still in beta but fairly stable. Worth a look.
Whichever way you go though to get windows to "recognize it" as you say just put in the dns servers ip into the dns server option in the tcp/ip properties and it should work. You can usually do this from your dhcp server as well.
