Post count - on or off?

    Well?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

It's kinda like the ranking system. Kinda.

how about an option for those of us who really don't care.
Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.

    Well, that seems dramatic.
If only you knew what's inside of me now,
You wouldn't want to know me, somehow.

I think the post count should be kept, sometimes new members will look at the post count to judge the value of advice given to them, make it so that the post count isnt taken inside the Lounge/Politicos. Thats fine with me.

All of "Techville" would also include TechZ News.

The WOTPP would surely be dead! HeeHee!

Now, the post count is part of any forum, no matter how much of a problem it may cause. To remove it is like taking the cheese out of Grill cheese if you know what I mean. If you want to turn off anything, deleting posts should be turned off.

    Save the post count!

    I say keep it on.

It's an indication of how active a member is on this forum. It surely isn't an indication of how valuable those posts are tho...

My thought re: post counts is that it aids in seeing where the poster stands in terms of experience and credibility. I'd be more likely to question advice from someone with only 1 or 2 posts. That said, I see no reason to count posts in the lounge or politicos.

Alternatively, you could have an ebay type feedback system.

You could ask questioners to award points to the most suitable answer posted but that would put more not less work on NooNoos sholders.
    I say take em down.
