Istbar Malware
I'm having a problem getting rid of a particular malware called istbar.
I downloaded the newest version of Ad-aware SE and spybot.
I googled the malware, and found some info via on a site called symantec to rid of this malware. I followed the directions on the site by rebooting my computer to Safe Mode, and scanned for spyware/malware with Ad-aware and spybot. Afterwards, I went to the registry, and deleted the files related to the istbar.
Well, I must've done something wrong or missed a step somewhere, cuz the malware is still on my computer.
Can someone help me get rid of this pesky malware?

Removal using the Adware.Istbar Removal Tool
Symantec Security Response has developed a removal tool for Adware.Istbar. Use this removal tool first, as it is the easiest way to remove this threat.
The tool can be found here: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxIstbar.exe

TechZ,
Thanks for your response!
Perhaps I should've specified by saying I'm having a hard time getting rid of the istsvc.exe file--the file that just will not disappear, no matter how many times I delete it from the registry.
I have already tried Symantec's Istbar removal link earlier. After the scan finished, it said that there's no presence of the Istbar on my computer.
I'll try looking through your other two links and try following the removal directions once I get home.
I hope it works cuz this file is driving me nuts!

Generally its System Restore that creates and issue, cause they cannot be cleaned so easily, so like "the boss" says, turn System Restore off, go to safe mode and do all the stuff needed to get rid of that spyware.
