monitor has shadows
The graphics displayed on my monitor are producing shadows that are very annoying. I replaced the monitor but the shadows persist. Before I spend more money guessing on the problem I would like someone’s opinion on the matter. I'm thinking the graphics card. Help! Thank you.

This just happened or always had this problem?
Try reinstalling or newer drivers. Lower or raise your refresh freqency.

EDIT: Aha! Didn't see the part about you getting a new monitor. Do what PBase001 said first. Then if no luck I would get a new graphics card.
Do you clean the inside of your comp every so often? Dust can be a killer or it may just be old.

Thanks for the prompt responses. Dust is an issue in the environment of the machine thus it will receive a thorough cleaning this evening. Thanks again

I wish I could have been of more assistance.
Oh hey I thought of something else it depends on what Graphics card you have but I know with NVidia there are a lot of settings that can be changed.
Have you changed any of the settings before this shadows thing happened?
I can't believe I am 86.
