having problem updating Win ME,
When I try to update Win ME to the latest version it hangs with alot of disk action. I have left the system running over night with the same result. When I reboot the system and look in the c:\windows\inf\ folder, it has a large number of OEM###.inf files with 0 size. I have deleted those files and retried the updating process with the same result. The longer I let the update run the more files are in the folder. Someone has told me that norton systemworks can cause these kind of problem. Does anybody have a solution? I really does want to give up systemworks and I want to update Win ME.
Thanks,
Charward

What do you mean by updating ME to the latest version? What exactly are you doing? There is only one version of Win ME. So, are you talking about running Windows Update?

I am running the Microsoft windows automatic update that I think is supposed to update my computer. It probably is updating other things besides ME, like Outlook express, and Internet Explorer.
