*Help* Is this RAM compatible?
Hi everyone. I really hope this is the correct message board, it is the only one I seen fit. I was wondering if RAM I am looking at buying will be compatible with my system...My specs that you may need to know are as follows...
Dimension 4300 Pentium 4 Processor (1.6GHz)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, English
384MB SDRAM (1x 256MB, 1x 128MB) (2 Slots)
I know it's nothing too much to look at, but it's what I've got. Thankfully the graphics card has just been updated.
If you need to know anything more about my system, I will try to find it asap. I am planning on taking out the 128MB stick of ram and replacing it with this http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...153-101&depa=1
Please let me know as soon as possible if this will be compatible with my system. Thanks.

Thank you very much, is there any way that I myself can learn to find out it is compatible? I'm either going to buy that RAM or go to Computer Renaissance and pick some up for cheaper possibly. Is there any way I can find out POSITIVELY if that RAM is compatible (sorry I am so repetative about this, but I've had bad experiences with RAM in the past and companies ripping me off). Thanks once again.

The only way is to try it. But, according to the specs, it is supposed to work. But, you need name brand reliable ram. PC133 sdram is supposed to work on your pc. Here is the Crucial recommendation for your pc, so you can see:

Thank you very much for that website... I have actually been searching for something like that. Last time I was at CompUSA one of the employees logged onto that program for RAM stats as well, but I hadn't remembered the url. Thanks again, I'll purchase it asap.
