Windows XP Media Center 2005 Comments
This version is now avalible for the end user to purchase with hardware. I'm thinking about getting it but would like oppinions from users who have used it and troubleshooted it.
The main points I am interested in are:
Burning Data DVDs
Burning Windows MovieMaker DVDs to play in regular TV DVD players
SATA Hard Disk Support
Working and Editing Digital Video from a Firewire camcorder.
Ease of use with USB Digital Cameras and MP3 players
Printing from MS Office XP apps to an HP Laserjet 3500
Here is the computer I'm going to install on (including the hardware above):
Athalon XP processor
Asus Motherboard
Geforce FX5700 Ultra
Sata Segate 160gig HD
NEC DVD+R/RW burner drive
Mitsumi 7 in 1 Media Reader Drive
1 gig Ram
Firewire and USB 2.0 External Western Digital HD
HP Scanner
ATI Remote Conrol Wonder 1.0
AverTV98 TV Tuner

I havent used the XP Media Center, but most of the things you want to know about are fairly common in any OS.
For all your dvd/cd burning needs, get Nero Reloaded, the Full Version.
Printing to a HP Laserjet 3500, is like printing to any printer. Just install the drivers and in any Office application, click File-->Print.
