1st gen Firebirds are pretty cool, even Homer Simpson had one (68' Firebird A.K.A. Lil' Bandit, once owned by career criminal Snake!)

God i love having a mechanic for a brother.
Going with a stroker, eh? I would like to put the rear disk kit on my Camaro. What year is yours?

Oh and OutCoded, have you ever raced a properly built automatic? No one can shift as fast.

Depends, maybe on an oval or strip, what about hill climbing and rallying?

because i just rebuilt my tranny ... the new frame will be outfitted for manual which will be slapped in at a later date ... it's just a measure to keep initial costs down

Plus: it's built rock solid and i got a killer deal on it $1000 canadian cash for a 700R professionally rebuilt with a stage 2 B&M Shift kit. It should have cost me $1500 at least. Once again i love having my bro.

Well actually it looks like plans have changed again and a 400 small will be thrown in, carburated of course and i'm considdering building it to work properly with a cowl induction hood. I currently drive an 85, but the new one is going to be an 82 (first year of the 3'rd gen).

And i agree with you on that point. for a strip you're better off with an auto. Standard is just more fun on the street.

Not exactly sporty or a V8, but being a 52' Willy's M38CND,its older then any thing else posted here and its a hoot go places you would not dare take your sporty cars. Oh yea, it can also do about 45mph highway in third gear, 2WD/High

It is in the final stages of some major body work. My buddy and I have been working on it all winter and have re-done all the wiring (old wiring is 53 years old), removed what little rust there was, filled in any holes that should not be there, straightned out the body where needed, had the seats re-done and added a read bench, major tune up (first in probably 20 years), built a front T-bar so that then the windshield is down, a fishing boat can be mounted and secured on it and the roll bar, replaced the windshield wipers with ones that don't suck, primered and painted olive drab.

We still have a few minor things to do like adding the 8000lb winch and a snorkel (just need to find 2 3/4 inch inner diameter rubber hose that does not cost $10 a foot). This thing is going to be a blast come spring.

And yes, it runs perfectly, is saftey certified (maybe only a canadian thing) and is insured.

It ain't old for a fine wine.

Porsche 928 finished with 350 hp in 1992-95, but the shape looked a little like a squashed Pacer with Lamborghini Miura headlamps, lol
