i can get the bios setup page to work by pressing F2.

however, it sez "operating system not found" every time i hit any key.

    now what should i do??

it has a cd drive, can i make a disk for it?

is it seeing the h/drive? or not , if it can then you can load 95 , has it a cd-rom and a floppy or not?

can it boot from the cd-rom?

if so chuck a win 98 cd in , and after its booted with cdrom support , chuck a 95 disk in and go for it,

now i just got to see if i can get it back together without wreaking it.

i'm sure i'll be back with more dumb questions!

well frankenputer is still running! is it bad that i have a few leftover screws?

i was able to load an old copy of redneck rampage on it, it got quite warm but worked perfectly!

question, how hard would it be to upgrade this thing to win98? i see it has an open slot on the bottom for another ram card. it already has one in it.

or is this just wishful thinking?

Hmmm, leftover screws you say? Can't be good, might be the motherboard is still lose, hard-drive not secured or LCD not right, but i doubt it will just fall apart (you should see how many screws are missing from my PC ). As for Installing Windows 98, its a bit iffy. The thing has a 800MB HDD and i have no clue on how much ram (memory) it has, i am thinking either 8MB or 16MB, if you want to check just right click on "My Computer" and hit properties and it will let ya know if you have enough memory to even run Windows 98. Good luck and nice revival!

If it's a Pentium around 133MHz like suggested earlier, Win98 will run (slowly), but really needs at least 32MB of memory. We used 98 on a P133 with 16M for a while at work, and it hit the page file often if you tried to do anything much. Win95 is more suitable really if it has the capability to run the software.

it appears to have 16mb ram, with room for one more card.

the hard drive is a whoppin 1 gb!

133mhz is what the start page sez.
