ALi USB 2.0/Firewire PCI
I bought the above PCI Card but can only get it working at USB 1,1 speeds. Installed the latest driver (1.59) but still no joy. Any one else have this problem? The Firewire seems to work fine and on Device Manager it looks as though the set up is correct showing the "enhanced PCI USB" and USB 2.0 Root Hub?

Certainly looks like its installed correctly.
What makes you think it isnt at USB 2.0 speeds?

Thanks for your reply.
I have a Wireless adapter and it can run at USB2.0. When I plug it in to the USB 2.0 from the PCI card it doesnt make a connection or appear as added new hardware. When I plug it into the original USB 1.1 port it connects we to the wireless LAN but with a message saying "this can run faster if connected to an enhanced USB port" "click here for more details" when I click on the message it says "This compuy=ter has no enhanced USB port" So I cant understand how the new USB 2.0 I added recoginises a USB memeory stick but wont fire up the wireless adapter.
Is there a way I can test the speed? If it is running USB 2.0 then maybe for some reason they wont support wireless adapters. Could it be a "power" issue?

After reading your answer it appears the new pci usb card makes no connections what so ever and you are only able to connect to the original onboard usb 1.1 ports?

No other devices connect through it, the old 802.11b stick, USB memory stick and USB mouse, but to connect at 108mbps with my new Netgear USD adapter it must be USB 2.0 port and it wont connect. If there was a way of finding out the speed of the USB and proving it is USB 2.0 it rules that out and then it must be something to do with my config or the adapter. Any clues how I can test the speed?

Well the fact that the wireless connects and says non high speed port is a clear indicator that it is not in USB 2.0 regardless of the speeds
Post what the computer specs are.
Motherboard
chipset
windows version
