Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available
I reformatted my computer and when i was done I get this message when trying to play audio:
Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding.
I have a built in audio card. I'm guessing I need to download a driver, but I can't find the right one.
Since I have no idea what is in this computer I downloaded Everest. This is what it says I have:

I don't know if any of that helped, but I hope so. The Intel website says something about they don't have a driver for public download so I don't know what to do. Thank you for any help you can give me.

In Everest, pull up the screen for motherboard/chipset, select south bridge from the top of the right panel, then find the information for AC'97 Codec.
Also, look under motherboard/motherboard and see if there is a motherboard name listed.
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

AC'97 Audio Controller
Audio Controller Type Intel 82801AB ICH0
Codec Name Cirrus Logic CS4299
Codec ID 43525933h
It doesn't say a motherboard name.

Is this a branded computer (Dell, HP, Gateway)? If so, what is the make/model? Check back of case for a tag.

Give this a try: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...reitem=pv300en
You didn't say what version of windows you are running. If xp, you could also try this: http://www.e4allinc.info/dir1/mother..._downloads.htm
Download is q4_1_low_audio.zip (can't link to file)
