    Question ECS K7VZA problem

I have a computer here with an ECS K7VZA m/b. Whenever I try to boot it up all I get is one long beep then the system powers down. I have disconnected everything but the CPU, Ram and video but to no avail. I tried to search the ECS website for an answer but like many m/b sites can't seem to find any post code refrence.

I would appreciate any input to this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Power supply okay? The motherboard may not be getting a power good signal and shutting down or the power supply itself may be flaking out.

    May be both...
You see, power supply could be blown and take also the motherboard - unfortunately, I see a lot of problems like that recently.
That's a pretty cheap motherboard and PC builders have tendency to use also the cheapest possible power supplies/cases with that motherboard (that's only my assumption, though)...

Take a closer look at your motherboard - if you have any defective capacitors (with bulged tops like shown on the picture below)

(You can see at least 7 defective capacitors on that picture)
If found any - then your motherboard is in troubles... and the power supply may be the main reason why it happened (PSU may have the same blown capacitors inside).
I just hope it is not your case and I'm wrong - but check it to be sure...
