Removine XP install
Have a pc that someone tried to install Windows XP and did not know what they were doing. The PC is not powerful enough to handle XP. It freezes during installation. They attempted to UPGRADE from 98. Can the installation be stopped and can they go back to 98 without a full format and reload of 98? Anyone know how?

I would expect it all depends on how far through the install it does get.
to desktop and then add remove programs may give you an option but I dont think its possible.
It more then likely a format which is what I would reccomend.
Its going to be a mess anyway

I ended up formating the drive and reloading the OS. The progress of the installation of XP was almost complete. The system would not boot to EITHER OS. MS has an article dealing with this problem and I tried part of their solution and had no luck. Thanks for the response and the ADMINS may close this thread if they so desire.
