    Thumbs up

Well since I have a classic Athlon 750 (oc 825) processor I have to cast my vote for the ASUS K7V Motherboard. It has been stable with very, very few problems (those have been user related). My scale would be 18½ out of 20 (would have been a 20 but it was an expensive b@$%@&d when I bought it).
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!

Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.

Almost every Asus one. I agree ChupaWeed about Asus CUSL2-C memory issue. Asus CUV4X is great also.

Abit SA6R. stable running my PIII700@933. No installation issues. My only issue is the max of 512Mbytes ram.

Oh and the Abit BE6-II rocks as well.
What do you mean its all my fault?...

Without a doubt ABIT has my vote. I've had alot of great experiences with the board. This was the first motherboard makers that I found to have BootBlocker Bios installed. When a friend screwed up a flash attempt, I was able to fix the bios in a matter of minutes.

I currently have the Abit KT7 w/o RAID. I have an Athlon 900 and 1 gig of RAM. Not a single complaint.

Fortunately their boards run much better than their website. I shouldn't complain though, at least their focusing their efforts on the product instead of just trying to make it look good.

my old but still used compaq 8088 ....512k mem (5.25 floppy ...10m h/drive.............never let me down using "wordstar"

PS whats this new prog called "windows"

I think that this might be a siily question you have asked ....ie is a ford better than a pontiac ..............at the end of the day there are a lot CPUs out there and a lot of chipsets to choose from.

i thint u should choose a chipset + CPU and
    memory to meet your needs.

is the next question you are going to ask ...."which is best .....intel or AMD"

whee,ve been done it ....got a closet full of tee-shirts.............

Best BX Board is, without a doubt, the Abit BE6-II. Stable, raid is great, can take up to a 1000 MHz slot 1. Few configuration problems. 18.5
Best 370 Board we have found is the Asus cusl2-c. No onboard audio(please) Also, easily setup and stable, few configuration problems.16(no raid)
Asus P4T for the P4. Just like the others. Set it up and go. No issues we have found except price.(15 no raid and darn expensive)
In my limited exposure to Athlons, I like the AOpen AK33. I know it is only a 200MHz FSB board, but it works stably. Using all the same components I used on my miserably failed attempt with a KT7A-raid, this system has worked very well.
BX on a budget, the Gigabyte GA6-BX C. Cheap, stable, and with the latest BIOS, supports a gig.
    Just my 2cents worth

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I agree that Asus is #1 and that the BX was the best chipset a year ago...

however, the topic is for 2001...

I have a few that get my high scores..

    1. Asus A7V133 and A7M266 for Tbird...
    2. Intel DA815EEA2 - the best Integrated board (Video, Audio, Lan) i815E based mobo.
    3. Abit SH-6 the only Slot 1 i815 Mobo
    4. Asus Cusl2-c : the best FC-PGA solution..
    5. Abit K7-A RAID - the best tbird+Raid mobo

that's off the top of my head
