Page File problems
There's a computer I was looking at today in a customer's business.I went there because the network card wasn't working. It had a SiS900 onboard dealy (which I've had problems with latlely) When I restarted the machine I got this message:
"Limited Virtual Memory
Your system has no paging file or the paging file is too small.
To fix go to system in control panel, advance, under performance click settings. Advanced, change, custom size. Then type initial or maximum size."
I did as it suggested and tried to set it to a custom size. Didn't change anything when I reboot the machine it says the same thing. Tried Admin account in safe mode, doesn't stop it. The machine is usable so it's not that important but it concerns me, what do you guys think it could be?

Could be the paging file is just corrupt..set it to no paging file..reboot into safe mode..defrag..reboot..reset to system managed size..see if the problem persists.

I tried that minus the defrag tho... is the defrag really that important?

yes..if you don't defrag, you run the risk of the new paging file being fragmented the same way the old one was. If the corruption is due to fragmentation then defragging seems an easy way to check
