Windows 98 Only starts in safe mode
The computer in question belongs to my mother and I'm not
sureexactly what she did to get it to this point other than she
saidshe shut it down improperly multiple times. When I start it up,
itLOOKS like it's in safe mode but the mouse does not work at all
forsome reason and it doesn't say "safe mode" at the
fourcorners of the screen. However when I tap F6 while it's
startingup, it goes to safe mode and the mouse works fine so I
actually amnot sure what mode it's starting up into and I don't
know how toget it into normal mode.
Can someone please help me figure this out

2nd try on this post..
Good day! Do you think the system was hit by a virus? I would scan the system first with an up-to-date virus scanner.. This might require you to download the virus updates and update them manually in save mode. If the system is clean. I would try a scanreg / restore procedure.
1. To get into Windows 98safe mode as the computer is booting you press and hold your "F8 key" on the top of your keyboard. If done properly you should get into the windows 98 startup menu. Choose “The command prompt only”.
2. At the c:\ prompt type scanreg / restore.
3. Most of the time you will see a list of past successful startups. Pick a date when the system started correctly or close to it.
4. Reboot the system and hope for the best..
Hope this helps.. I would backup the drive before attempting and fixes..
