2 PC Network - Internet Problem

I have two computers hooked up to a network. The main PC, has two NIC cards, one for a cable modem, and one for a crossover cable that is hooked to another computer. I usually have internet access with both machines, but now, the network is working fine, i dont have ANY 3rd party firewall programs installed, windows firewall is off, and ICS is enabled, but everytime I try to get online with the crossover PC, i open my browser and get "cannot find www.google.com, check to see if name is right" even though the network is working fine. HELP!!!

    Couple of things.
    Can you ping google?
Have you recently installed or uninstalled P2P software like kazaa?
Or run a spyware remover on the machine?

    Win 98 SE Experience

I had a 2 PC network using the ICS on Windows 98 SE, it was nothing but problems. I could never get it set up correctly in such a way that it would work reliably for any period of time. Then I read an article in either PC World or PC Magazine which stated that ICS was nothing but a headache, which I had proven. They advised getting a router. This solved my problems, and I haven't looked back. In addition, the router gives you some firewall advantages. ICS Bah Humbug.
