E-Trust EZ-Antivirus... it works great, and like it was already mentioned, it's free for a year. It's also no-where near the resource HOG that NAV is.
I also run the E-Trust on my 2K3 server at home, and it's awesome too.

Trendmicro Officescan client/server suite
automatic push updates - we have scheduled on the hour
built in client level 2-way firewall (XP's is only incoming)
spyware detection (removal in the works I'm told)
Web browser based interface for everything.
remote install built-in from web interface.
multiple firewall profiles, can also be updated from web interface.
All for about 1/3 the price of Norton...

Thats like saying, I dont go to the doctor to get my shots, so I have no disease.
You might not even know that you have a virus, there are so many types that it could be dormant, or doing its job without your knowledge. Its not a good idea, in todays world of inet to go about without any virus protection, maybe if youre an ub3r g33k, thats ok, but even then, imagine the result if you got infected one day. Its irresponsible is what it is. Virii can attack you through any way you use the internet, and they bring along nasty surpises.

Our company requires that we all use Norton.
'Nuff said.

1-2 updates a month? Thats very less, NAV has very regular updates, and this is the only issue with FREE av's, the updates are less frequent cause they want us to get the Pro/Premium version.

Nod is real fast, it scips 3/4 of your hard drive. Try any other AV and check how many files it scans then try Nod and compare. I want a thorough scan so I use Kaspersky and it has had a %100 kill rate. It is also good at getting rid of viruses that you have and install it to get rid of them which is hard for a anti virus program to do. I have tried, Nod, Avg, Avast, McAfee, Etrust, PcCillin, Normon, Norton and I keep going back to Kas. Takes a long time to scan but it does a great job and you feel all tingley inside.

Well, I've my AVG 7 Free set to check for updates daily and more often than not, there's something to add. Half an hour later its set to do a full scan.
And no hype to upgrade or end-of-year snarking about 'subscribing' for another year...

NOD 32. Ive completely given up on Norton now.
If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.
