Question firewire cables...which one do I need?

What type of Firewire cable is equal to Sony's iLink cable? I would like to hook my Sony DV camera to my PC but would rather not spend 40 bucks or so on a sony branded cable. I looked at newegg but quickly got confused on whether I needed 4 pin, 6 pin, 9 pin or some combination in between? Man I miss serial and scsi cables.

Do I just need a 6 pin to 4 pin cable or what? Or is iLink a proprietary cable and I am SOL?

The camera is pretty new and my MB documentation states 1 x IEEE1394 so I am assuming that is just plain old firewire.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Whats the model #? And isnt it mentioned in the manual?

If youre going to a shop, take your camera with you, just to be sure.

Get a good brand like Belkin. cheapie ones will probably cause more headaches than its worth.

    Thanks

    TechZ,

You are the man! The link you supplied appears to match the camera perfectly - it looks like a 4 to 6 is what I need.

    thanks for your help.
