Sound Driver
Hi, I am really having a problem trying to get a sound driver for an HP pavilion 8543c computer using Win 98 SE. Either I don't know how to load these drivers or I am getting the wrong one. If there is any support you can give me it would be greatly appreciated. I really miss my sound. My computer recently crashed and had to be reloaded. But after reloading there was no sound. The sound card is fine, but I apparently don't know how to load the drivers for it. I think it had Master Riptide PCI Audio Device. Can you help? Thanks for any help you could give. Cindy

Is that the orginal operating system? Searching HP.com I can only find driver information on Windows 2000 and XP.

OH THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You are my savior! I can't believe I did it! I finally did something right! Thanks to you! I appreciate the responses, but this one is the one that did the trick, and believe me, these things are tricky!!! Sound, sound, beautiful sound. Thank you for taking the time to help me. I have been having computer withdrawls for 2 months and for the past 2, weeks since I got it fixed, I've had no sound. I will surely keep this site in my favorites. I couldn't even get HP to respond. Thank you sooooooooo much again! Cindi
