    Computer Problem

OK I did not know were to put this, so I though I would just put it in here, if this is the wrong place, then I am sorry and you can go ahead and move it.

I was wondering if any of you may be able to help me with a problem that I am having with my computer? I have tried to find all sorts of things to fix this problem, but do not seem to know what the deal is with it. Ok this is what is wrong with my computer.

Ok whenever I go to this site: http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...elName=Insight and click on the thumbnails of the Insight, I never get to seem them in a larger view instead I see nothing at all, even though when you click on the thumbnails, the images of the Insight are suppose to show up next to the thumbnails in a larger view. This is what I see: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...e_Error.JPGand here it is in another browser: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...la_FireFox.JPG I also go to this site here: http://melodydawn.proboards41.com/index.cgi and there is suppose to be a shout box at the top of the screen, however when I go to the site, I see no shout box at all this is what I see when I go to the site: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...ritChasers.JPG and here it is in another browser: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...la_FireFox.JPG and I get a error message which says this: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...sers_Error.JPG I do not understand what the deal is with this and why it does this. Another site that I go to which is http://www.insightcentral.net whenever I go here: http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/pho...res-video.html on the site to see the video section, I only get to see three videos and this is what I see: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...eo_Gallery.jpg and here it is on another browser: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...la_FireFox.JPGI do not understand why this is. NONE of these sites have problems on them as I have gone on them on my parents computer and they use Internet Explorer as there Web Browser, and they all work fine, plus I have gone to them on my school computer and they work fine so I do not know what the deal is, do you? You can go to these websites and look at them and see how they show up on your computer (I bet yours don't show up like mine though):

    http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/pho...res-video.html

    http://melodydawn.proboards41.com/index.cgi

    http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...elName=Insight

My OS is Windows XP Pro and I have the most latest version of Java script that I installed from here:http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and I also have the most updated direct X, and I still do not know what the deal is with it, do you know of anything I can do to get this problem fix, or why it may be doing this? I am not sure if it is a problem with Java Script or what the deal is, but I know that this site: http://melodydawn.proboards41.com/index.cgi does not use Java Script, and I am not sure about the other two, I know the Honda Page probably does, but not sure about InsightCentral.net. I have talked to my Uncle Jimmy who is a computer tech on the phone and he connected to my computer and looked at it with me and he couldn't really find out what was wrong with my computer, I told him that it has been like this since I got it, I bought it from here:http://www.ibuypower.com/mall/lobby.htm Although I do not think that the company messed it up I think my step-dad did as when I got it, it never came with a OS on it, I had to install that and then the drivers and that was it. My uncle Jimmy told me that the best thing to do since I do not know when this exactly happened except for when I got it is to reformat it, and start over, but only problem is that my step-dad will not let me do that, which I do not see why not since it is my computer and all. I just would like to know what the deal is with this my computer and why it does this, do you know of anything I can do to fix this at all or why it may be doing this?

Tell me when you went here: http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/pho...res-video.html how many video's did you see? You are suppose to see four video's, but I only see three: http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...eo_Gallery.jpg and here it is in another browser:
http://jupiter.walagata.com/w/sinest...la_FireFox.JPGI know that Internet Explorer browser has nothing to do with it, because I can go to all three of these sites:

    http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/pho...res-video.html

    http://melodydawn.proboards41.com/index.cgi

    http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...elName=Insight

and they all work fine on my parents computer, and they use Internet
Explorer as there Browser. I have updated all the drivers on my computer,
and I still am having this problem, do you know of anything I can do to fix it?

No, they do not work on Mozilla FireFox. I do not understand though why it is whenever I am on MSN and I have someone connect to my computer to help me or show them what is wrong, the websites show up how they are suppose to but whenever I disconnect they do not show up right. I have even gone to these sites and disable my Firewall and Anti-Virus and they still don't show up properly. I don't know why it is that I should have to switch web browswers for these sites to show up right, and I have already done so and they don't diplay right, I just don't know what the deal is with my computer.

Have you run any anti spyware? Install, update and run these:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/

    http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I'd run all 3, they all find different spyware.

I have Ad-Aware SE Personal, and Microsoft Anti-Spyware, the only one I don't have is the Spybot Search and Destroy. I run all the Microsoft Anti-Spyware, Ad-Aware SE Personal, my One Button Check-up, every day, and I dump my Internet cache every week and I also run my Anti Virus every once a week as well and dump my Recycle Bin, and do Disk Cleanup, so I keep my computer clean I guess you could say. I will download the Spybot Search and Destroy, and see if that finds anything, that the others might have missed. Could it be possible that there might be something wrong in the Registry? I know my Uncle gave me a program that scanned out my entire computer and fixed all the errors on it, a friend of mine told me to do something with the Windows CD and do the Repair Wizard or whatever it is on it and that would fix my computer or something without having to reformat it.

Well I ran the Spybot Search and Destroy and that found a few new Adware and junk, It also found some stuff in the Registry, but I deleted it all, it said that I deleted some improtant file when I removed it, I hope that whatever it found in the registry, that it didn't mess my computer up even more then, but oh well, if it did then that is just another reason to reformat. Well none of that stuff it fixed on my computer with Spybot Search and Destroy fixed the problem with my computer, so I do not know what the deal is with it, I have talked to 3 techs, 3 programmers, and no one has been able to solve this issue with my computer.

Try booting from the XP cd, skip the first repair option and run the 2nd one. It will do an over the top install but not mess with your other apps.

That is for updating, like if I were to update my computer from Windows 98 to Windows XP, so how is that going to work?

Here are the link about in Internet Explorer, and in Mozilla FireFox, just so you can all see them.

No it isnt..after going by the option to use the recovery console to repair windows and choosing install windows, you will get a second screen which gives you the option of repairing your current installation. After doing so, you may have to reinstall windows updates and activate windows again, but your programs, etc. will continue to work. ( and you havent activated windows yet anyway..so that wont be a big thing) IE is so closely tied to the OS in XP that many things you wouldnt think would affect it can do so.

Yes I have activated Windows, I just checked it and it said it is activated. I can't get it to boot up from the Windows XP Disc.

Make sure your cd rom is before your HDD in your bios boot sequence.

I think it is my Firewall that causes the web pages to not show up properly, I have gone to this site: http://melodydawn.proboards41.com/index.cgi and this site: http://automobiles.honda.com/models...delName=Insight adn they show up Perfect when my Firewall is off, but the second I enable it and refresh they do not show up right. This site:http://www.insightcentral.net/KB/ph...ures-video.html even with my Firewall down does not work at all, and I have no clue as to why, do any of you? I have gone to my Firewall settings and looked at them, and I do not know what it could be in there that is causing this. I do not understand why it is though that whenever I connect to someone elses computer, all the sites, including the InsightCentral one shows up Properly, or how it is suppose to but the second I disconnect, it no longer works, and neither do any of the other sites. Does anyone know of anything I can do to get the sites to show up properly, or know of what the deal is?

SP2 installed on this machine? If so uninstall it and see if that solves your problem....

I have had some bad experiences with SP2.

I have already uninstalled Service Pack 2 and reinstalled it and that did nothing. I think I may try to reinstall the Firewall, and see if that does anything.

After only skimming the whole thread what equipment are you using to connect to the internet? Just a modem? or a modem with a router seperate? or a modem/router combo? have you power'd off all this equipment and tried then? I have recently had a problem with my gnet IP-104 stopping connections to certain pages until I reset the modem... We had this crazy dlink router that no matter what we did REFUSED to go to Ebay auction pages... after numerous calls to dlink they just replaced the router...
