Admin Change
When I build a PC I put John Doe as the admin, is there any way to change this once you have it that way to show the buyers name and only his throughout the system. Windows XP home.

What I did was create a account in the owners name and delet the John Doe account and for the most part all John Doe is gone but if you do a find in your registry you will find plenty of John Doe still there and that is what I was wondering how to get rid of short of formating and reinstalling all over again.

Hi,
unforunately XP home does not support Sysprep.
You can only rename admin account.

I have done this somewhat successfullly using a regedit search and replace script. You may have to google a little to find a utility that will perform such a task. I have an older copy if you want to PM me.

I did a search of John Doe and replace in the registry and had to replace about 20 John does and delete one and that seems to have done the trick. Would be better if you didn't have to do it that way. Is the program your speaking of Giz find all John Doe names and replace them all at once? Although that was my last PC in stock and I don't believe I will be building anymore ahead of there time, only when ordered.
