need audio drivers for Gateway MX3560

hello everyone, i just formatted my gateway MX3560 and installed a fresh copy of winxp sp2,upon completion of installation, a bunch of drivers were missing so i got what i could from gateway's site, the only driver i'm missing is the audio driver. the audio driver supplied on gateways site DOES NOT work, and i tried everything i could find with no luck.
If anyone can help me out , I also did a resaerch on google and the only thing what i find out was that many users from this gateway MX3560 have the same problem,
So i hope i can get help in this forum
    Thanks in advance

have you tried the realtek drivers from realtek's website?

    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True

chances are its a ac97 audio chip so these drivers should work.

yes I tryed the driver from realtek but during the installation windows crashes with the blue screen.
I checked also some other forums and I found a couple of users they have the same problem and no resolution for the problem.

Try one of the ac97 drivers here http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...D=1&CatID=1010
    and here http://support.intel.com/support/mot.../cs-013142.htm
There are other ac97 codec and chip suppliers, I just saw one the other day that I've never heard of before but I sure can't remember what company it was.
    Good luck.

Many manufacturers use the same model sound card. A driver is a driver.
After some searching it would seem you need drivers for a Anolog Device card.

I have the same problem as the first post. I just formatted my gateway MX3560 and installed a fresh copy of winxp sp2,upon completion of installation, a bunch of drivers were missing so i got what i could from gateway's site.

My device manager shows that I have 4 devices not recognised. Among of which is the Audio Device manager. I know I have a Realtek and tried to download the AC97 from their site. Every time i'm my computer begins the install their is a systme error and my laptop reboots.

Any suggestions? Working on atleast getting my sound back.

Welcome to Windrivers cannibal. Have you tried THIS sound driver? When you download this driver, run the setup to make sure it sees the sound card.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!
