Cool Bypassing a compaq Evo laptop bios password

I have bought a second hand laptop and decided to use a bios password to protect my university work. Now i can't remeber it and there is no way to get in, i haven't tried to clear the CMOS yet but i'm not sure if this will work anyway because it is a laptop. If there are any suggestions they would be appreciated. :butt:

Hey Matridon, don't mean to be stepping on anybody's toes but since the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) puts it out on their website, the decision was that we (WD) can go ahead and link to that info.

From HP's/Compaq's website: Clearing System Password on a Compaq Evo N600c Notebook

Depending on your exact Evo model, the procedure may be different for you.

My apologies, I was not aware of the change.
