sony pcg-v505dc1 network/ethernet drivers
Hello All,
Had to wipe and re-install winxp on a vaio pcg-v505dc1 and found all drivers except for wireless adapter and nic. Not sure who made the devices and can't find any drivers on the sony site for them. There are 2 devices that tries to install at startup - one ethernet controller and one network controller. I'm pretty sure it's the wireless adapter and the ethernet card but as I mentioned, don't know what brand they are. Sent email to sony support for help but so far no response. We have neither the recovery disks and the recovery partition is destroyed. Any help is appreciated.
thanks,
d

Try the drivers for this notebook http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-li...eType=Original They're for the PCGVX88 and not yours but I was looking at some notebooks with similar model numbers and they seem to mostly use the Intel and Orinoco drivers. I can't see why those were left out for your notebook, who knows? The free program Everest http://www.lavalys.com/ can do a pretty good job identifying hardware but it can show hardware generalities with notebooks. Good luck.
