duel monitor/ mouse / game control

    Hi Guys,
First off I haven't been around for a bit, OK a long time

OK here is the problem I would like your help on.

I'm running a duel monitor set up, things are working well but with one small gripe. The resion for the second screen is so I can have a game on the main screen and have several small apps open in the second one. Things like TS2 (Team Speak) and server admin stuff running. The idea was to do the clan admin stuff and play at the same time. Some games really don't like to be minimized. So here is the question... How do I get the game to relise the mouse so I can gain control of these other apps. Is there a nice little app that lets you change the focus, or two pointers or something anything that will let me control apps on one screen without leaving the game on the other???
    Regards Steve...

The problem with alt+tab is as the game is running as the main app it will minimise, something I'm trying to avoid. what I looking for is a something that will alow me to change focus from one screen to the other. A set up that replicates the effect of a duel PC (KVM) system. Splitting the control of mouse and keyboard between the screens.

The game is going to play a big part in this. Are you running the game in "windowed mode"? Btw what game?

The games I run are not normaly run in "windowed mode" althow I will have to investigat if it is possible. Given the demans of modern games I would have thought it would be problimatic at best.

As for games there are several, Counter Strike-S, Day of Defeat, MoH and Noverworld's Joint ops.

I set up the second screen for the express perpouse of being able to do two things at once. From my investigtions it would appear the I should have set up a second PC... There is a 486 DX100 up in the loft, maybe time to dust it off

Well, you have to remember how games are designed to work. That is to say, they are not designed to relinquish control of the mouse unless you step outside of the game. Window mode will help you some, but the only way to get precisely what you are asking for that I know of is to set up the other PC. Good luck though I'd be interested to know if you find something..

    solution: sort of...

OK this is the only way I have found how to solve the problem, Alt+Enter to make the game go into Windows mode then Alt+Tab like normal. It's not perfect but it works, I would still like a small app that allowed a hot key to change the focus from one screen to the other... but hey its an imperfect world...

Might be possible to code it yourself (assuming you know/can figure out how to do that).
