blank screen
I have a MS-6131 board with on-board video. I am trying to install a PCI ATi Radeon Card. On my board I connected the jumper to disable onboard video. Then I hooked up my radeon and booted up, but the monitor did not turn on. It just has a blank screen. Everlything works fine when I take out my radeon card, enable the onboard video jumper, and plug my monitor into the onboard video.
Here's the manual for the MS-6131:

Thanks.

Maybe the place to start is to determine if the video card is OK. If you have another video card see if it works on you system, or if not, do you have friend who will let you try your card in his/her system?
Other things to check ... did you load the Radeon drivers before you installed the card ... is the BIOS up to date ... ?

Not sure of that particular mobo, but there may be a switch in the bios to boot with onboard or agp video first, try changing that if it exists and then turning the machine off, disconnecting the power source, adding the card, and powering up. Worth a shot!

I'll try it in my other computer. Why would it matter if I loaded the drivers first? The screen should still turn on at POST, shouldn't it?
The BIOS is not up to date, I have always been scared about rewiting a bios. I doubt I could get another BIOS chip on a board this old if I messed up the chip.
Thanks for the reply.
