Advice on USB 2.0 and 1.1

hey, im in desperate need of advice. I've got an iPod which worked fine until i had to take my computer back to window ME, however today i decided I'd go back to Windows XP Proff. Now I've installed Windows XP and iTunes, but when i go to connect my iPod it says a HI-SPEED UBS Device Plugged into non-HI-SPEED UBS Hub, and i dont understand why it worked before and not now? What do I have to do to solve this problem, please help!

Have you installed the service paks for windows yet?

Yep, yep, yep. Gotta install SP1 to enable USB 2 support in XP.

What about the appropriate chipset drivers for your motherboard chipset? USB2 needs more than SP1.

hey....thanks, ok im downloading the SP now, and its taking ages! im guessing that as it has worked before that its going to work again?! and that the problem isn't anything to do with the chipset?!

No! Do to a virus I just reinstall Window XP Now I can't seem to get windows to reconize my fire wire bus.
