Question Win2000 printer driver for HP DeskJet 710C

I need the Windows 2000 drivers for the HP DeskJet 710C printer. I don't find it on the HP WebSite nor on the Microsoft WebSite.

This model is already included with windows 2000. Simply go to add printer & under HP you will find this model in the list.

Thumbs up

Yeah, what jay015 said...

Go here for step-by-step instructions on "HP Deskjet and HP professional series printers - Obtaining and Installing Drivers for Windows 2000."

You may or may not need your Win2000 CD disk for this...Good Luck!

Cool

Hi... been there, done that, tried that...
I get the following error:
FILES NEEDED: The file 'HPFIpm13.dll' on unknown is needed.

PS: The printer is shared on our network.

If you're missing a file, then I would try reloading the drivers again.

Delete all references to the printer via Device Manager. Then go to Add Printer wizard as referenced in the above HP link...it has procedures on adding Networked printers. Hopefully, it will start flying for you.

Let us know how it goes...

If you're installing a local printer, you may have LPT1 configured wrong. I had this same problem on a new setup and LPT1 was configured for ECP. You can check it in the port settings for the printer properties. It should say "LPT1 Printer Port". If not, you can make the proper adjustments in CMOS seetings under "Parallel Port" settings.

Cool

Just for info...
The BOSS' pc is Win2000 , the seccies' pc is NT4.0. The printer is on LPT1 on her pc. Can the two OS share the printer?

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you can see the printer in your network from the 2k machine, you can use the 2k drivers on that machine. All the seccies machine is doing is is providing a path to the shared printer. She uses her own set of drivers from her machine.
