want to flash my bios...??

Right, i want to flash my bios, the prob being that i dont know what my motherboard is. This is quite an old computer, and i got it second hand with no manual. Opened up the side panel to take a look, but nothing written on it - so where can i go to find out what motherboard i have, and then where i can get a bios update for it. ta.

One of the main rules about doing bios updates are, don't do them unless you have a specific reason. Is there something that you are looking to gain by updating your BIOS?

3fs has a bang on point , don't fix what ain't broke & most especially, if trying to fix it 'better', might break it 'good'

.. but not withstanding that, the bios string (big long number & letter string) which usually shows bottom left of the boot screen as the machine posts, is generally a very good clue - anything else you can fathom out about the board either by inspection (you can tell if it has onboard sound or such etc) or running utilities, will also help identify it.
