Hello,
I have a problem user who went into the printers folder and deleted her HP color Laserjet 4500N. No big deal right. well, a cooworker goes down to try to re-install it. (it is a network printer - jet direct) He sits down at her laptop(windows 2000 pro) and signs on as her. (she is a local admin) and tries to install the printer. He browses the network and selects the printer. it gives him a message stating that the PC where the printer resides does not have the correct driver, would you like to install the proper driver now. (Our print server is running Windows NT 4 server.) he says yes and points it to the drivers he downloaded from HP.com. He downloaded all of the drivers that HP offers for 4500n for windows 2000. none of them work. it keeps telling him that the drivers to not match the hardware he is trying to install. What is even stranger, is that if he tries to install the other color laserjet 4500N that we have, it installs perfectly fine and never even asks for a driver. What is goin on here? HELP!!!
