Question Toughbook CF-27 Windows 2000 Touchscreen Driver

    Hi there,

I've recently been given a Panasonic Toughbook CF-27. I've been running Windows 2000 on it, but I can't seem to find drivers for the sound card and touchscreen. Panasonic only has drivers for Windows 98 and I've been googling for days to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Hi cj10111 welcome to wd forums.

Try going here, hit the icon next to downloads & put your model number in the appropriate box when the page has revised & you ought to see some bios updates (there's a few depending on just which variety of cf27 you have) & I think the lack of any specific ones that you wanted, means windows is supposed to 'know' .. Applying any bios flashes may well help in this respect, as if windows isn't correctly identifying all the devices (which bios tells it) then it can't 'know'

I didn't get the bios working but I did download the touchscreen and sound drivers from there. They work beautifully. If everything works then do I need to update the bios?

    Thanks for the help.

Nope ! .. leave 'well enough alone' (if everything is fine don't bother about any bios updates for now) - its my fault for not looking very hard, I didn't see the particular drivers you wanted, so assumed , thankfully you did look a bit harder than me

'no harm, no foul' hopefully applies .

    XP Drivers

Was wondering if you knew of a way to make the touchscreen work with XP, nowhere else does but maybe you do.
Also the speech on a video echoes when i have headphones in, is this a dodgy connection or can i do something about it?
I have checked that it isn't just set up to echo when headphones are in (thought I would check the obvious first!)

    Thanks
    Tom

    Solution

I have a solution for touchscreen driver problems with Windows XP. I have a CF-28 (originally with W98SE). Model #CF-28MCFAZEM.

I got a copy of Win Xp Home SP2. Booted from CD, and installed to my C: drive.
I formatted my HD putting just this XP installation to it.

    Next I got these drivers : http://www.fujitsu.com/emea/services...ning-0523.html

I also uploaded same file here : http://rapidshare.com/files/69574087...19l41.zip.html

    Run TPSETUP.EXE and restart pc.

Your touchscreen should now be active (but inaccurate). Time to calibrate.

In the unzipped files open folder WINXP and open CALWIN.EXE. Using a stylus is best.

Go through that and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps! [email protected] for help.

Just remember, if you change your screen resolution you have to calibrate it again!

That worked great for my CF-27! Thanks. I have come to accept that my touchscreen would never work, but now it does!

    Thanks

    Hi to all

I just found a site with all the toughbooks drivers on it.

    http://www.produkte.panasonic.de/ser...TR&process=yes

I bough two of them on ebay and had a hard job finding sound driver for win 98.

Exactly what didn't work for you?
By callibration, did you mean for the touch screen?
    What windows are you using?
