    Hi Everyone,

Has anyone got any experience in setting up an internet cafe, if so any advice and what software do you recommend to manage the internet connections.

No experience but you are going to want a decent router with firewall and software firewalls which cannot be configured without admin permissions. You also are going to need some sort of load balancing software to prevent 1 person downloading at full speed while the others have to wait. Oh and a decent AV and spyware package. this does some of what you need

    Thanks Noo.

I have done a bit of research and I have found some good management utils for the connection. But these have generated two more questions.

1, If my client decides that they want a wireless hotspot point as well how can I manage/control sessions to this.

2, If the client wants to go for 10 pc's I was going to quote for SBS 2003 Premium and install ISA 2003, this will obviously provide a bit more security however can I use ISA to control content as well (ie. block porn, violence etc)?

Thanks for you help guys I really do appreciate it.

ISA can pretty much control anything! But you want some sort of content filter as well such as websense http://www.websense.com/global/en/ there are others out there, this is not a recommendation, just one I have heard of.

    Useful link for isa http://www.isaserver.org/

As for the wireless hotspot... here is a little light reading from cisco...
    and this one too
