    Backup Help

I'm working on backing up just one pc to another on a home network (workgroup) using acronis true image and schedule regular automatic backups. OK so it's all backed up on my kids machine and I want to test it so I plug in the bootcd made by acronis and restart the pc and go to restore/pcs near me and it shows no pcs near me and only what is on my pc so how do I get it to see the pcs on the network? Also if there is anything thatworks better what is it?

This generally means your network adapter is not supported. The only way you could get it to see PC's on the network is to either download the latest build (which may include support for the network adapter) or put in a supported network adapter. They update the builds all the time and usually will add support for newer hardware. I do not know of anything that works better. what version are you using? When you update your build you will have to make another recovery cd to incorporate the updated support.

Kodiak, go to acronis support and check that your network adapter is supported in your build.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Ok, acronis is working good now and it's rather user friendly and works slick. Good backup software solution.
