PCGAL, being close to the high tension power lines is a factor that makes your AM radio a lot more staticy (sp?) there is a lot more RFI in the air. This does not usually affect FM however. Since the High Lines are something that can not be changed, I think you should replace your power supply with a quality unit. Many cases come with very low quality P/Ss. I kind of like the style of some low end cases, and they come with very cheesy power supplies. So, the first thing I do is put a good power supply in and toss the cheese. A top of the line P/S is Antec, but a very good one that will cost a lot less is Enlight. They make some ugly, but very good quality cases.

Could be any of the components in the pc... put a foil screen between it and the radio?

This isn't my desk either, but it looks very similar

Whoever's desk it is though, is tidier than me, there's a clear path to his chair !

Desk, what desk, I can't find mine, Ohh there it is ,So thats what hold my monitor up
Now about the RF, sounds like your TV and radio signals are weak in your area, Plus your near a power pole, Plus you may have a cheesy power supply
These are three factors you did not have at your old place
The cable company upgraded your service to bring in a stronger signal, this cleared up your TV
Your AM radio may remain weak due to you proximity to the power lines, Unless there is a solution
Check your PSU , if it is some strange name or came with the case then I would install a nice antec PSU ,
    Format c I'm givin er all she's got cap'in !!! )
