Has ANYONE managed to get the Dell software shipped on their new computers?
For the new Dells (about the last 6 months). Not the Windows XP disk. I mean the Symantec System Restore and the Sonic CD Recording software. The documentation says you can get it from Dell.
20 phone calls later I still can't get anyone at dell to send/sell it to me.
anyone EVER get it?

Yes. I do installations for Dell, and I have had not customers shorted on software in several months. Hardware issues have been another issue, but I really haven't had any trouble getting prompt resolution. Sorry, Techs, just don't know why you had such a bad experience.

I have bought about 10 in the last month alone. Not one came with Symantec System Restore or the Sonic CD recording software. If you pay 10.00 you can get the Windows XP disk and I think they send a Corel cd and possibly a driver disk.
But if you got the symantec and sonic cd's Doc could you pm me?

When I got my DELL laptop, got some software (like Quicken, M$office etc), but not the OS or drivers. I immediately emailed them and asked for both CDs and they sent it to me free of charge ( I would have been po'ed if they charged me since I spent bucks for the laptop). Make sure to email them and don't call, that way you don't have to go through phone heck.
