QuickTime without iTunes
If you attempt to download QuickTime from the Apple site, the webpage sends you to the page that offers QuickTime installation combined with iTunes.
However, QuickTime can still be obtained without iTunes, it is available here ...this link is shown on the 'combined' page but I wonder how many other people fail to spot it too

Perhaps a little off topic, but you can also use: Quicktime Alternate 1.69. The final version of this freeware was just released March13.
QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt and other extensions) without having to install the official QuickTime Player. It also supports QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages.
The early bird may get the worm; but the second mouse gets the cheese!

hmmm, nice tips, thanks! I did find the quicktime without itunes before, but that alternate looks interesting.
