installing a new HDD (in a nutshell)?
Right, just got my new 200 gig HDD today. What i want to do is install it temp, pull all the data off my E: and put it on to my new HDD, then remove my E: and have my new HDD replace it as a new E: (you still with me?).
Basically, how can i do this?
Can i disconnect my DVD drive and plug the HDD to the cabales that - that uses... any ideas?

My suggestion would be to put it on the same wire as the current E: drive if it is IDE, making sure to make one master and the other slave ( it doesn't matter much which is which) and boot up. If they are SATA, then plug it in to the motherboards' SATA connector and copy through Windows.

what, so disconnect my C: and put my new HDD on that... then boot up with one primary and one slave? I'll give it a go and let you know.
