I'll have him try clicking the Explorer.exe file in C:\windows and see what he finds.
He's toggled the Folder view on and off, with no success.

I talked with the guy and had him try manually clicking on c:\windows\explorer.exe but he said he got the same results - entire left side of Explorer windows (folder view) is greyed out, but files show in the right-side window. He tried toggling the folder view on and off, but no results.
I'm thinking about having him just bring the system back to me tomorrow, and I can reload it again.
What do you think?
