Panda Platinum Internet Security firewall error

I've been working on a computer that keeps giving a firewall error. Nothing specific, just under the firewall section it says error.

Here is some of the things I have been done
-reloaded windows so working with a fresh installation of XP (using sp1, but when sp2 was installed it still did not work)
-verified no other security related SW is installed
    -verified windows firewall is disabled

I installed Panda after all the above was done and it still gives firewall error. Now with this firewall it blocks the customers access to the internet (using DSL w/ verizon). Also, with it in the error status it does not allow us to get into the firewall settings as the option is not available when it's in error status. I even tried to disable the self diagnoses tool on Panda to see if it would get rid of the error message, but it keeps coming up. I would just recommend EU not using the Panda firewall (by going the installation and selecting not to install it), but for some reason the customer wants to use this firewall. Any suggestions on what to do so I can get this firewall working?

Thanks for any help anyone may be able to provide on this.

Check your windows firewall and turn it off if it is on because they do not play well together.

I've tried that already and still no go. Anything else you can recommend?

    What are the exact errors?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

It doesn't give an exact error. On the main panda screen it just shows "Error" in the firewall status. If you click on more info it just recommends to try to restart the computer or reinstall Panda. When trying to go online EU just gets page cannot be displayed.

When you reloaded windows, was it a repair install or did you format?

Have you checked out the support at panda? There are different versions - one version of 2005 can "block" and needs an update...?

It was an HP so I did the recovery process with the F10 key and did the advance options for the destructive recovery.

I'll check out the update and see if that helps.

    Thanks
