Cleaning out Registry Cleaner.
Has any one had any luck getting rid of that annoying "Registry Cleaner. com" ad pop up?
I recently worked on 2 machines that have this annoying pop up. I have used hijack, spybot,ad aware, to no avail.
Both of the boxes were using IE 6, and oddly enough they where both using the same internet service, if that means anything. The strange thing is that on one of the boxes it's a fresh install, and was infected on it's first log on to the internet, from the default home page.

Security Task Manager is great for finding hidden processes. The trial is a partially featured version with enough capability to kill running processes. Once you kill the process and quarantine it, use Ace Utilities to clean the remnants from the registry. Again this is a trial version, but I think once you get a chance to play with the utility, you'll want the full version. Ace Utilities is a full featured trial. If this doesn't work, this would be the next step in the troubleshooting process.

hi there!
check this out: www.protectyourpcnow.com
ive recently experienced some spyware/adware attack with my desktop turned to black and lots of popups every once in a while..
i tried using counterspy, spy sweeper, etc...but to no avail.
i dowloaded and run the software i got from this site..after scanning it found 20 malwares/spywares but wasnt able to fix them cos you need to buy the software..i bought the software for..i think $39 and finally fixed my problem.
it was worth it!

Don't touch with a bargepole.
Has only relatively recently been removed from the list of rouge/ suspect anti-spyware proggies, and there are much better free alternatives.

I tried Xoftspy.
If its gona detect something then it dam well better remove it for the first few days so one can see how it works. Otherwise it goes into the gimmick category.Scan find something and then buy before anything can be fixed.
Sounds a lot like winfixer to me

Intel Mod
Pathetic isn't it when shills have to go around joining forums and breaching user agreements in order to advertise stuff. It's a tactic that puts products straight onto my "forget it" list...
