Radeon X800XL on nForce2 Chipset
I just bought a brand new ATI Radeon X800XL and I'm having lots of problems. It appeared to install w/ no issues but I was playing World of Warcraft last night (1 day after install) and my machine started locking up. Hard boot required. After several reboots I went into device manager and noticed that the Radeon board was listed as "Unknown" hardware. I was told this is typically due to an incomplete driver install. I have tried reinstalling using the Catalyst 5.11, 5.10 and the original install disk that came w/ the board. Everytime it installs as unknown. I even reinstalled the nForce2 5.10 chipset on the MOBO.
The machine will run absolutely fine until I load up WoW.
Any ideas?
Processor: AMD Athlon 2800+ Barton
MOBO: ASUS A7X8N-X
OS: Windows XP Professional
Chipset: nForce2

Did you possibly check for a WOW update?

Yeah, I even went on their support website. They recommended the Catalyst 5.10 and nForce 5.10 versions to play the game. The game automatically updates on patch day. That should not be the problem.
